Week 2

Hey everyone,

Not much to report this week – no drastic changes in the quantity of hair I’ve managed to keep, but check out this week’s assessment pic:

One thing to note today is that recently the amount of strands that have come out while shampooing has reduced from an average of around 15 strands per hand to around 10 strands per hand. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Keep checking back for more updates!

Week 1

After a week of using the product (Samson’s Secret), I have to say I’m pretty happy. I don’t have much to update with, because one week is far too short of a time period to experience any big changes in hair re-growth, but I must say that my existing hair seems to have gained a little more moisture and bounce to it – hopefully these early signs equate to bigger results in the coming months.

The treatment plan – taking a Samson’s Secret capsule twice a day – hasn’t really changed my routine at all. I take one gel cap with breakfast in the morning and one at night with dinner. That’s it.

On the other hand, I’m still anxious to see if this will actually work. I guess only time will tell.

For now, I thought I’d provide you with some initial benchmarks, since it’s still pretty early on in the test.

Hair washing schedule: I usually wash my hair once or twice each day, most often in the mornings. After lathering up my hair, I usually count the number of strands that have fallen off while washing and are left on each hand.

My Week 1 average for these is 15 strands per hand (each time I washed).

Area:  The size of the area on my head that is balding is around 2.5″ (6.3 cm) wide and 3″ (7.6 cm) long with a small patch of hair in the center (see picture).

Day 1

Last night, I received my first bottle of Samson’s Secret in the mail. I put in my order on the 24th and it got here on the 31st, so a week seems like a pretty reasonable shipping time, at least to me. As a first impression, I think it’s really reassuring to note that the guys over at the Clayman Company know how to pack their product right. Here’s a pic of what I got:

The box was discreet, with only the Clayman Co. logo outside (no Samson’s Secret branding and especially no embarrassing “Re-Grow Your Hair!” advertising on the box). Inside the box, all materials were wrapped in a mailing envelope and the bottle of gel caps was encased in its own separate bubble-wrap pouch. Most of the information included in the package was general information filler and can be found on the Samson’s Secret website (Click to open a new window or tab), so I won’t review the pamphlets that I got.

Well I took my first capsule of Samson’s Secret this morning. Pretty uneventful. The capsule was normal-sized, as far as gel caps go, and went down easily.

One thing that I noticed, which kind of eased my mind, was the fact that the gel caps are liquid-filled. When I was ordering the product, it was a big toss up for me on whether to buy the gel caps or the liquid. The company offers Samson’s Secret in either the capsule form or in an “eyedropper-bottle” liquid form. On the Samson’s Secret website, they stated that both products are equally effective, though I had my doubts. I’ve heard before that natural supplements (for example flax seed oil) are more effective if taken in the liquid form. But I knew that personally I’d much rather take gel caps than have to measure out – and deal with the taste of – the liquid.

Knowing that the gel caps are just the liquid form packaged in a pre-measured capsule would have definitely helped me out when I was ordering. Oh well, at least now I know that I’m not losing out on any of the added benefits of the liquid.

Anyway, signing out for now – far too early to evaluate results.
